Info & Frequently Asked Questions

Read through our frequently asked questions about Honour Rings, or feel free to get in contact with us  for further queries.

What metal types are available?

Our custom rings are available in Sterling Silver, Gold, White Gold or Platinum.

How do I find out my ring size?

It’s easy - any local jeweller can size your finger, and will do so free of charge.

What happens if I order the wrong size?

You can choose to send it back to us for resizing (at your expense) or visit a local jeweller who will be able to resize it for you. It is important to make sure you know your correct ring size before ordering your Honour Ring to avoid this hassle.

What is the difference between Gold and White Gold?

White Gold is the term used for an alloy of Gold with a white metal, such as Nickel or Palladium. White Gold rings are often coated with another white metal called Rhodium. The Rhodium is used to make the White Gold look “whiter” as the natural colour of White Gold is actually a light grey colour. It depends on your personal style and quality preference as to which metal type you choose.

Will my class or club ring tarnish?

All metals will eventually tarnish, so it is important to care for your jewellery. White Gold rings will need re-rhodium plating if worn regularly. Gold and Platinum will require gentle cleaning to remove a buildup of oils. Sterling Silver will tarnish when exposed to air, oils and creams, so will need to be polished using a Silver cleaning formula. If you store your Sterling Silver in plastic bags with an interlocking seal it will be less prone to tarnish.

Are the rings solid?

Yes, our Sterling Silver, Platinum, Gold and White Gold rings are all solid metal.

How long will it take for my class or team ring to arrive?

After you buy your custom jewellery online, your order will arrive via track and trace courier within 4 - 6 weeks.

Where are the class rings made?

All our Honour Rings are made right here in New Zealand.

Why do I need a graduation ring?

Graduation rings are worn by University Alumni as a symbol of pride in their hard work and achievements during their university years.

How do I wear my graduation ring?

We recommend that you purchase your custom New Zealand ring 6 weeks prior to your graduation ceremony so you receive it in time. During the ceremony, it is tradition to wear your ring with the crest facing towards you. Once you have officially graduated, the ring can be turned around so that the crest faces outward, as a reflection of your success.

Could my ring get lost in the post?

All Honour Rings are posted via track and trace courier with full insurance, so it will not get lost.

Can I order my class ring after I graduate?

Yes you can, but we recommend you order your ring before graduation so it can be worn on your special day.

How do I design a custom ring?

Simply go to our create your own ring page to get started.

Can I get my class ring engraved?

Yes - you can choose to have your name, degree, and year of graduation engraved on the inside of your Honour Ring for an additional $20.

Which finger do I wear my ring on?

Traditionally, your graduation ring should be worn on your ring finger, which is beside your little finger. However, many graduates choose to wear their Honour Ring on their index or even little fingers.
